Our care
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. We consider the whole individual and the strengths and challenges they bring to the table. We collaborate with individuals to create a personalized treatment to effect real change
Our Method
We blend together a warm, empathic relationship with evidence based treatments and a tailored plan to create a unique and effective therapeutic experience. Together, we can go to new emotional places, whether on the couch or on the street. We are embedded in real life.
- 01
Standard care
We start by completing a comprehensive intake assessment. Based on this assessment, you and your therapist develop a treatment plan collaboratively. In most cases, sessions take place once or twice a week for 45 to 60 minutes. Depending on the needs of each individual, we may vary how often and how long we meet.
- 02
Intensive treatment programs
Some research suggests that certain anxiety treatments, particularly for moderate to severe symptoms, may be more effective when sessions are longer in duration and more frequent (e.g., 3-7 days a week) rather than when they are spaced (e.g., weekly.) Offering intensive treatment options allows us to practice inclusivity for those in need of an option apart from standard care.
- 03
Out-of-office/home visits
Effective treatment of anxiety often requires home or real-world sessions in order to address anxiety and avoidance in the places where it occurs. We can also complete intake assessments in home when symptoms prevent travel to the office. Home or real-world sessions may be the best option when in-office work is not sufficient to create real-world situations. Travel time is billed at the standard rate.

Winning Against Worry Anxiety Management Group
Winning Against Worry is a weekly group for adults who experience persistent, unmanageable worry/anxiety, engage in avoidance or isolation as a result of worry/anxiety, and/or have difficulties with tolerating and coping with uncertain situations. Group members learn effective and actionable ways to address these challenges and will have the opportunity to learn from and support others with similar experiences.

We have two groups: one for adults and another for adolescents (13+). At various times throughout the year we offer a DBT skills in multiple domains, including mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Although components of the full DBT model are not currently offered at our clinic (e.g., phone coaching), participants in this group can use it as an adjunct to therapy or as group therapy alone.

Family Based Interventions Play Therapy
Play therapy is a structured and scientifically supported therapeutic practice that relies on the normal communication and learning processes for children. Play therapy can be used strategically to support children to express themselves in a way that they may otherwise be unable to put into words. The therapist is there to support that expression and help translate for parents and the child. Play therapy can be an especially good fit for children who are guarded and overwhelmed by more traditional talk therapy. Play therapy can help children be able to understand and communicate their feelings, problem-solve, improve and learn ways to relate to peers and family members. The gains made in play therapy can be generalized outside of therapy as children learn to navigate the world with greater self-awareness, confidence, and emotion regulation.

Family Therapy and Parenting Support
Parenting a child with anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges can be hard and confusing. Life transitions including divorce, death, adoption, and birth can also throw a family off balance and exacerbate the struggles that may have already been present. By focusing on family relationships, we can work together to shift unhelpful patterns and nurture a closer relationship between family members. We provide family therapy using a variety of approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment focused therapy, and Theraplay interventions. Parents are powerful partners in child-focused therapy and gains made in the therapy room are best generalized and maintained with the involvement of parents. Additionally, parent focused therapy can help support everyone in the family by focusing on parent needs and challenges so that you are in turn able to parent from the strongest place possible. We can support you to better understand the struggles facing your child and support your parenting and respond in a way that helps your family thrive. Family therapy and parent support therapy can be provided on its own or as a complementary therapy to other interventions.

Children & teenagers
We welcome all ages. Our clients have been as young as 2 years old. We offer a range of therapy options from parent training to play therapy to individual or intensive psychotherapy with older children and adolescents.

Parents & guardians
It takes a village to support young people’s treatment. We work with parents, guardians, teachers, and other providers on ways to support child treatment and how to implement treatment in schools and homes. We also provide parent support so you can bring your best self to your child’s treatment.

Adults
Our adult clients have ranged from 18 years into their 90’s. We provide support across stages of adulthood, from young adulthood and transitioning out of high school to establishing careers and relationships, the changes of middle age, and elder care and end of life support.

Getting the right care
- STEP 1
We match you with the right therapist
Our intake coordinator will guide you through the process of finding the right therapist and logistics.
- STEP 2
Book an introduction before committing
Therapist match is key to a productive relationship and treatment outcomes. Speak with a therapist before committing to find the right fit for you.
- STEP 3
Get personalized treatment
The first stage of treatment is the intake, in which we get to know you, your history, establish therapy goals and together create a plan for your treatment. The next stage of treatment is beginning therapy and enacting your plan, flexibly and responsively, until you meet your goals.
