Brittany Bayer, M.Ed., L.P.C.

she/her/hers

Brittany utilizes a strengths-based and collaborative yet directive approach to therapy and provides a safe space to allow for client expression, exploration, and growth.

Brittany Bayer earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at DePaul University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rowan University in New Jersey. Prior to joining the Chicago CBT Center, she worked in a hospital-based clinical setting at Advocate Illinois Masonic Behavioral Health. Brittany has experience working with adult, adolescent, and children who have struggled with depression, anxiety, OCD, phobias, and Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors. She is passionate about supporting clients with overcoming their difficulties and living a life that aligns with their values, interests, and dreams. She encourages between-session practice to enhance clients’ development of skills that they can carry with them long after therapy has ended, to improve self-efficacy and instill a sense of mastery over life challenges. Brittany also enjoys incorporating humor into her work with clients, because second to evidenced-based therapies, laughter is the best medicine!

I appreciate just how big of a step it is to reach out for guidance and support. My first order of business is helping my clients to identify what motivates them and to develop insight into their difficulties, thus setting a solid foundation for lasting change. I strive to create an environment that allows my clients to feel supported, guided, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. The best part of my job is celebrating change with my clients and witnessing their growth toward a more fulfilling life.
