Kim Zack, M.A., L.P.C.C.
she/her/hers
Kim provides family focused therapy to young children and their caregivers. Her clinical approach is
rooted in the understanding that children develop within the context of their environments and
relationships. In order to address the presenting challenges, Kim works within the family system to build
stronger connections, develop emotional and behavioral regulation skills and navigate challenges
together.
Kim earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. She went on to
complete the certificate program in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health from the University of
Minnesota. For the past fifteen years Kim has provided mental health therapy and consultation in
schools, primary care clinics and day treatment settings. In addition to her expertise in Infant and Early
Childhood Mental Health, Kim has received training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and First
Approach Skills Training (FAST). Kim uses a developmental lens to work with children with concerns
ranging from autism and anxiety to trauma and mood disorders.
In her free time Kim enjoys spending time in nature with her family, collecting cookbooks and watching
the Minnesota Twins.
Relationships are vital to health and happiness. My approach to therapy is built on helping children and families use their connections to each other to learn new skills, tackle challenges and meet their goals. I strive to enter into therapeutic relationships with curiosity, empathy and a genuine desire to understand. I use evidence-based treatment blended with a sense humor, knowledge of human development and a focus on each family's strengths.
