Marie Chesaniuk, Ph.D.

she/her/hers

Marie has an emotionally and intellectually curious approach to supporting clients. Therapy with her is nonjudgmental, evidence-based, and tailored to each individual and the challenges they face and administers and disseminates therapies that work.

Marie earned her Master’s degree in the Humanities/Creative Writing from the University of Chicago and her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. A winding journey brought her from writing and working as a musician in New York to practicing psychology in Chicago. Marie has a background in teaching psychology and the arts that comes through in her emotionally and intellectually curious approach to supporting clients on their own journeys. She has experience working with neurodivergence, chronic illness and health, mood disorders, relationships, and is trained in SPACE treatment. She works with children, adolescents and adults.

It is an honor to do the work that we do. Therapy not only provides a framework for understanding ourselves, why we do what we do and feel how we feel, and how to effect change, but also an environment in which to experience ourselves, our actions and feelings, and test out new ways of thinking, feeling, and doing.
